hello all
i have been using my iCloud account on iPhone, iPad, mac mini and MacBook pro
not sure when this issue started but i am experiencing an issue with one of my contacts
My contact has 2 mobil numbers and on email address associated. When he sends me an iMessage on my iPhone it brings his name as a contact
on my mac mini it shows either his phone or his email address
when i try to add to existing contact on my mac and search for his name there is no name to assigning it to!

again on iPhone everything is ok but not on other devices.....

what am i doing wrong?

Sounds like on your phone you have different groups than on your Mac and the contact isn't actually in your iCloud contacts.

Go into Contacts on your phone and tap "Groups" at the top left, what do you see? Do you have more than just "ICLOUD" listed? If so, tap "All iCloud" to uncheck it and then click "Done" at the top right, how many contacts do you see? Is your contact still in the list? If so then that contact and all the others listed are NOT in your iCloud contacts and won't show up on your Mac unless you have all the same non-iCloud accounts added to it and the Contacts function enabled for them.

It could also be a sync issue, if all you have are iCloud contacts then you can try disabling and re-enabling the Contacts function on each device to force a sync.

hello and thank you for the recoomendations
i did quite awkward thing maybe and i got the contact on my other devices as well
i sent the contact from my iPhone to my mac mini via Airdrop and it seems that now everything is ok on my iPad and MacBook pro that previously had an issue with that contact
the problem now is that on my Contacts app on my mac there are two iCloud (identical it seems) categories
