Greetings from Miami!

I've observed that we can apparently no longer choose a photograph for a Contact Poster. We can obviously still choose a photo for the Contact Photo, just not for the Poster.

We can still choose letters and background colors for the photos.

I'm using Developer Beta 4 of iOS 18.1 on an iPhone 15 Pro Max.

Has anyone else encountered this? Do we know if it's temporary? Thank you!

I’m able to do it. I click contacts>my name>contact poster>edit>customize>contact photo>photos and all my pictures are there

Though my poster says “disabled” so I’m not sure what that means

Can you please try Customize > Contact Poster instead?

My Contact Poster is still there. But I was trying to assign a new Contact Poster to one of my contacts (not my own card), and I'm only being shown the option to select letters and background colors, but not photos from my Camera Roll.

I'm actually scared to mess with my own contact card's poster because I don't want to lose the poster I currently have.

But I just had an idea. I'm wondering if this new contact was created in my Google account. Android doesn't support Contact Posters (as far as I know), so maybe I can only change the Contact Posters if I create the contact in my iCloud account.

I figured it out. If you previously made a contact card with just letters/background color for a contact, you can't edit that contact card and add a photo for their contact poster.

You have to create an entirely new contact photo/poster by tapping the plus sign at the bottom of the contact photo/poster screen. If you tap on Customize, and your previous contact poster for that contact was just letters/background color, then you will not be able to change the Contact Posters to a photo from your camera roll.

I hope that isn't too confusing.
