Contacts app. Apple removed groups?

Maybe Im just overlooking the option for it but where is groups in the contacts app?

There is a big red bookmark on the left page labelled "groups"

Silly me, if I had any normal groups (as opposed to smart groups) set up on my Mac desktop. I might actually see the red book mark. lol

That said, I wish apple would enable smart groups in the contacts app already.
