iPad Pro Contacts app on ipad

For some reason if I search for the contacts app on the iPad using spotlight it doesn’t find it, despite it being installed. If I search by spotlight on my iPhone it does. Not a major problem just wondered why.

Maybe the iPad needs to index it first?

Maybe check your siri&search settings on iPad to see if you have a random setting in there for contacts. Show in Search should be activated.

Have you tried rebooting your iPad and seeing if it then picks up the App. It could simply be a small bit of corruption.

I noticed this probably a year ago and it’s rebooted many times

Try going to Siri & Search in Settings. There, in Contacts turn on "Show content in Search" under On Home Screen.

Your description wasn't very clear and I actually didn't understand it until later. But yes, it was along the same lines. This is really a pretty obscure setting and easy to miss.
