On the latest release of iOS 11, I noticed that I can no longer categories a contact's email (i.e. as work, home, etc.) The only option is "email." Existing contacts keep their previously-assigned category, and even permit changing the category, but new contacts don't appear to permit changing the category.

Has anyone else noticed this behavior?

Not seeing this. Tapping on the “label” brings up all of the options you describe, including custom label option. I’m in the Contacts app FYI.

I get the choices on my contacts from Gmail but not on my contacts from Exchange, for whatever reason. This seem to be new because I don't remember having differences here.

Folks,

Thanks for the replies. As it turns out, the default account for contacts flipped from iCloud to Exchange when I added the Exchange account. Switching the default back to iCloud restored the email category functionality.
