Contacts disappeared!

Just received a text off one of my contacts but their number showed up instead of their name. I checked my contacts and all but 4 have disappeared!

I've got contacts synched via me.com but can't get to my MBP at the mo to see if they've disappeared from that too.

Anyone encountered this?

they are probably just stuck in the cloud...

you could delete your MM account on your iPhone and then re-add it. this should re-sync any contacts from MM.

I've had this happen once before also.

I did it a little differently than you, but the results were the same.

Instead of deleting and recreating my entire MM account, I went into Settings > Mail, Contacts, Calendars > (clicked on my MobileMe account) > and then hit OFF for Contacts, answered the pop-up for "Stop Syncing", and then hit ON. Everything re-synced properly.

when this first happened to me - I was so worried that my phone contacts had erased what was on the cloud and then back to my imac/macbook.

I have since gained wisdom. Glad the issue has passed for you.
