Okay, so I have an interesting question about this whole iCloud and contacts integration. I have my contacts currently managed through Google and synched with my iPhone. Now, I like this integration because it means that I have access to the same information when sending e-mail from Gmail or trying to send an email from my iPhone OR trying to text/call one of my contacts. Is there any easy way to integrate this along with iCloud without having to start from scratch?

Thanks!

I am using google sync for email, contacts and calendar and iCloud for bookmarks and photo stream. I keep them separate to keep away from inconsistent data. I know it does ask you to merge contacts when you set up iCloud but I'd prefer to keep google doing what it does best and same for apple. The bookmarks sync with reading lists is a really nice feature. I wish Safari on Pc's was better though like Chrome.....

Nope. Google and iCloud are separate, with no easy way to migrate between.

It would certainly be nice if Google or Apple allowed some form of integration between the two...storing our contact info in iCloud and accessing it when composing an email (from gmail on your Mac). Just thinking about that makes me think....nirvana

It's Apple's decision to make, not Google's. Google is usually very good about allowing you to export/import contacts from other services.

Well, since the link is now broken, it's pretty upsetting considering it had worked previously. We use a custom domain in Google Apps. My .mac/iCloud can't be my main email.

If you're on a Mac and sync to iCloud like me, the best way is to manually import the contacts on a regular basis. I had to export the vCards from Address Book and them import them into Gmail. Not the most convenient way, but at least you have your contacts.

You can do the reverse from Gmail and import the vCards into the Mac address book. Hope that helps some of you!
