When I Search (swiping down from Home screen), I no longer see Contacts when I start typing. I can get them to show up if I turn on Settings > Siri & Search > Suggestions in Search but then I'm subjected to all the other Siri suggestions which I don't want (even after turning off Siri suggestions app by app, there are a bunch left). In previous iOS versions, there was the ability to toggle Contacts on specifically for Spotlight search but that no longer seems to exist in 13.5.1

A couple of dumb questions to ask, to eliminate some other things.

  • Is Settings > Contacts > Siri > Show in Search on?
  • Can you search for a contact in Contacts? Might have accidentally turned off a group, if using those.

I can search for a contact in Contacts but don't see a "Siri" option under Settings > Contacts

No "Siri & Search"???

Or how about Settings > Siri & Search > Contacts?

Ok that makes no sense because i'm also running 13.5.1. You can get to it in two ways:

1. Settings > Siri & Search > Contacts > Show in Search
2. Settings > Contacts > Siri & Search > Show in Search

That's weird, I don't see the Contacts app in Settings > Siri & Search (#1) nor do I see a Siri & Search option in Settings > Contacts (#2)

You are scrolling down to the bottom of the Siti & Search section, right? That's where all the individual apps are listed - you probably wouldn't see this list unless you scroll down to bring it into view. You see a whole list of apps there, but no Contacts app?

I do backup to iCloud but would rather not go through a reset/restore. Maybe I'll check with Apple Support if others don't have any suggestions

Ok, after playing around a bit more, Contacts did re-appear under Settings > Siri & Search and I turned it on. Until recently, when I used Search, it would show only apps and contacts that matched my search terms (which is what I want and how I set it up). Now, in addition to those categories, I see:

- Websites
- Siri Knowledge
- News
- Siri Suggested Websites
- Dictionary

I have Learn from this App and Show in Search disabled for all apps under Settings > Siri & Search. Is there a way to get rid of these extraneous categories of information?
