I was looking for contact information on an individual who runs a handyman business. I knew I had the contact but didn’t remember his name. So I did a search in contacts for handyman which is part of his business name and I had also included handyman in the notes section. Search returned nothing, neither did a spotlight search. Fortunately I remembered his first name was was able to find the contact card, which did list handyman in the company name, and the note was there. I exited contacts and then did a force quit of the app. Repeated the search process and this time his contact was found, so I thought it was just a temporary glitch in Contacts.

A couple minutes later out of curiosity I tried this again and again search, both within Contacts and in spotlight, had no results. So there is some problem with this process. Have others run into a similar issue?

Yep same problem occasionally since original iOS 15. I get around it by disabling then re-enabling the contact group in the app for that particular search. Always comes back though. #ItDoesn’tJustWork

Thanks. Yes it does come back. I guess it’s been a while since I needed to search for something in contacts that way. This was the first time I’ve run into this. A force quit temporarily fixes it like your disabling the group but it comes right back.

Force quitting was only a temporary solution. Restarting my iPad has fixed it for now. I’ve restarted my phone and we’ll see how long that lasts.
