On 2017 iMac running MacOS 10.14.6 and Contacts v12. I also have 2 iPhones and 1 iPad.
I have contacts grouped into categories like "contractors", "friends," etc. Almost overnight (but maybe over a short time) they started duplicating themselves to where I now have about 4 copies of each group. Sometimes they are exact duplicates in terms of content, sometimes not quite. It doesn't appear that cards themselves are duplicating, only groups. I can laboriously go through them and delete duplicate groups, but the bigger questions are why did this happen and what can I do to prevent it in the future? I suspect iCloud is the culprit. Can anyone shed light on this?
