I have an IPad Mini, running iOS 12.01. It seems like my contacts are backing up to iCloud. When I log into my iCloud account, I only show two entries backed up. On my IPad, I have lots of entries that aren't on my iCloud. When I go to the contact settings on my IPad, the default is Gmail. When I switch to iCloud and try to backup my data, the contacts doesn't transfer through. I have no issue with Gmail and my contacts on my IPad. it syncs up just fine and it works great, but I can't get it to work with my iCloud account.

Does anyone have any ideas on what is going on?

No, that's not it. My contacts never backed up on iCloud. It backup just fine with Gmail.

If Gmail to iCloud was ever supported, it's been a while, as Google stuff used to use ActiveSync iirc, and that got dropped a few years ago.

Believe there are apps for this.

By chance, do you know what is the app called, or what would I search under?

Re: apps: do not have a specific one to give, but, should be able to find something with a search of "contact sync".
