Just upgraded to ElCap. I've been using AdBlock and Ghostery as extensions for years. Is there an advantage to the new Safari content blockers?

What new Safari content blockers? I thought only iOS 9 get those. OS X already has them in the form of Adblock, Ghostery, etc.

At least five new adblockers that make use use of the new content blocking API in El Capitan:
  • Adamant
  • Ka-Block!
  • Roadblock
  • Wipr
  • NoThirdParty

I'm using Wipr right now. So far, I'm a fan. Pages are loading quick and there aren't as many huge blank spots where ads were like I saw with Adamant.

Not me. Still old-school Firefox user. I think some of my bookmarks still date from the times we had Netscape...

Yeah, I also love old stuff, like old books, cars, furniture, socks, photos, … , but bookmarks, really?!

I've noticed that web pages that use the "Mobile Safari in standalone mode" metatag and launch in their own Safari instance do not get ads blocked by Blockr. Example: FoxNews.com
