Anyone using Content Caching on their Mac with Sonoma? I've never used it and read about it here and there and Apple Site. Would love to know real world results and people who actually use it. It seems like a great feature. Specially for some of us that doesn't have access to Fiber Internet Yet.

At home I've used content caching for quite a few years. We have about 4 Macs, 5 iPads en 6 iPhones .... it's running on an old Mac mini which is doubling as a timemachine machine ...... I've set about 500g of cache.... and it's nice, not phenomenal .... especially iPhoto library caches nicely. IOS en system updates really go fast....

what might make a difference, where I live apple services aren't really fast (I've got a 1gbit fiber connection, and apple services top out at 60mbit. so all data from a local source are faster than the apple 60mbit speed....

if you've got specific questions, please ask....

This helps a lot. I have an extra 1TB SSD external HD and I'll use 800GB of it for Content Cache then. I don't have Fiber and using T-Mobile Home Internet. Which at peak I get 150down and 25up. Which is what I had with Cable that I was paying 3x more. I haven't had issue so far, but I think this feature is great for my type of connection.

Be advised. Only an Mac device which boots in the same LAN uses the cashe.
And after a few weeks you start to notice a difference.

I have my iMac M3 connected to our VELOP Main Parent Node - Mesh Network at home via Ethernet. That iMac never turns off or Sleep. The Main Parent VELOP NODE is connected via Ethernet to the TMOHI Gateway. All the devices are on that VELOP WiFi Network. So I guess that's ok. Also the TMHI Gateway has WiFi turned off. I used the HINT app to turn off the WiFi radios.

then, after activating the caching, reboot every device and you're good to go

you can open the activity monitor and look at the 'cache' tab to see if it's used

Oh got it. I'll reboot everything. I wonder even Apple TV and HomePod, but I don't think it needs to for this stuff. thank you!
