I imported a new ringtone for incoming calls on my iPhone 5 and iPad Air. Both play the new ring tone but, Yosemite is still playing the default (iPhone 5) tone for incoming calls.

Anyone know where or how to change it so the Mac will play the new tone?

Anyone able to find where all the ringtones listed in FaceTime are kept in Yosemite? I turned on view hidden files and couldn't find them. It would be nice if the Mac could have the same custom ringtone as the iPhone and iPad Air.

You can find them under FaceTime preferences, says ringtone it is underneath where you phone number is listed at bottom. took me a while to find.

I am not talking about that. I made a custom ringtone that I am using on my iPhone and my iPad Air that plays when I receive a call. When my MBP rings, it still plays the default iPhone ringtone. I don't see a way to add the custom ringtone to FaceTime, so that it shows in the list that is accessed from preferences like you noted. That is what I need help with.

Sorry if my previous post was confusing. Thanks for replying, though.

actually, tinknock did answer your question. It's under the preferences of the Mac version of FaceTime.

Not sure if it actually allows you to select a custom ringtone or not though.

I don't see a way to load a custom ringtone into FaceTime on the Mac. I see all the default ringtones in preferences.

There is a thread around where I posted a process, you basically have to replace one of the default files with your custom ringtone, then select it in Facetime.

I ran across this thread while looking for a way to change the ring tone today. Since it wasn't answered in this thread, I decided to post a link to what worked for me, figuring more people will want to know how to do this.
