I just wanted to share my farcical experience with contracts. Here it goes...

I received my activation code to become a registered iPhone developer on 11th March. Within my first week I entered all of my tax & banking details and I sent off my W-8BEN form on 17th March.

My first application changed to its "Ready For Sale" status on 24th March, but was obviously "Pending Contract".

I emailed Apple on both 25th & 27th March enquiring about the contract process - but received no reply.

I rang Apple on the 2nd April and explained my situation, they said they'd email me some questions and then once I replied with the answers they'd do their best to chase it for me. I sent the replies right away and haven't heard since.

After leaving it to see if anything would get done for over a month, I sent another email on 18th May, but surprise surprise, no reply back.

I then tried emailing itsvendor@apple.com on 22nd after a suggestion that devcontracts no longer reply to emails, but have had no reply from them either. So, yesterday I rang up the developer connection team again and spoke to someone which has really made me more angry...

I was told that the usual time-frame for a free contract to be setup is 2 weeks, and about 4 weeks for a paid one. Both of mine will have been "In Process" for 11 weeks tomorrow!

I was also told that last time I rang (2nd April) my problem was escalated... and all she could do was setup a new 'case number' for me and escalate that. But if nothing was done to my previous escalated case, which had been active for 53 days, then what's going to be different this time!?

I asked if there was anyone I could speak to with direct contact with the contracts department - the answer was no.

I mean, I'm paying for this service, and I've had apps pending for over 2 months! I can't get anything into the iTunes store at all - which is what I'm paying for!

I'm starting to think it would be quicker to terminate my account and sign up again - but there's no way I'm paying twice! It's like I've been forgotten.

Has anyone been in the situation at all? Does anyone have any suggestions on what to do? I'm totally and utterly stumped, and feel really let down by Apples "customer support".

I have similar experience.
But you received your activation code at least.
I'm waiting still to receive my activation code 5 weeks.
I called to apple and wrote email but it is just waste of time.
Where are you from? I mean US or europe etc.. ?

Yeah my account was activated no problem, they've just done nothing with my contracts. I'm in the UK. I just can't believe you can't speak directly to the contracts people - there surely must be a way, or are they all recluses?

What makes it worse is the fact that I know plenty of people who have signed up for the program after me and had their contracts sorted out very promptly...

Yeah it's strange.
You guys from countries which do have the iTunes store are lucky.
You at least got the activation code.

I think that I even when I'd like to
develop not a crap apps will be able to test on device after a year when
Apple will discover my fax somewhere lost.

And it's sad because I have almost finished the core of 'not a crap' game...
I think I can put it to garbage..
