I have this strange bug where my control key and option key functions as the same button, so I cant use control key on my magic keyboard. I can see on the on screen keyboard that the control key highlights the option key.

The keyboard is connected to a Macbook Pro M1 and it used to work fine. The keyboard on the macbook works fine.

Tried: Keyboard layouts, modifierkey settings, uppdated MacOS, deleted the keyboard and added it again.

Boot into recovery mode and see whether it's an issue there. If not, it'll be a configuration problem. But if so, then it's looking like there might be a hardware problem (although testing on another computer would be a good idea).

Edit: Also does this affect both Control keys, or just one of them?

In case anyone else has a problem like this. I installed Karabiner elements and then it worked, the Mac treated that as a new keyboard where i could choose keyboard type. After I uninstalled karabiner, the keyboard worked fine again.
