What's the best app to control your mac from your iPad? Can it be done from another location too? I have a wifi iPad, could I control my MacBook thats at home from my friends place if I have a wifi connection?

1. Best app for remote Mac control
2. Control from a different network?

Thanks!:apple:

I use iteleport.
Connect using network or over the Internet.

There are many good ones to choose from that may suit your needs in different ways. For me, after reviewing the ones available I went with iteleport and it's perfect for me.

I was just looking at that.... anything that isnt 30$? :D

I use iTeleport $24.99, and also LogMeInIgnition $29.99.

Of the two, my preference is LogMeInIgnition for a couple of reasons.

I find that this Application has more features than iTeleport. LogMeIn comes with a few types of subscriptions, but the Free Subscription is amazing and will do everything you need it to do.

I find all of the FEATURES in LogMeIn actually work, as with iTeleport, when you try to scale down the quality of the rendered images, for slower connections, it doesnt work. LogMeIn works flawlessly, and much faster than iTeleport.

LogMeIn also gives each user the ability to ADD as many computers to one account, as with iTeleport, you need to either enter an IP address (and possibly port forwarding, DMZ'ing...etc..etc) or you can log in with a Gmail acct, as long as you have Jaadu Connect on the host machine.

LogMeIn works like this.

You download the app to your device. You sign up for a free subscription on logmein.com and once you download the Server application on the Host PC, your good to go. Make sure the Server is running, and then you can access your computer from the iDevice, or... you can access your host machine over the INTERNET through a Internet Browser. This is DEFINITELY a BONUS over iTeleport.... It's those little features that give it the benefit.

I'd love to write more and more about the two, but I dont wanna bore you... But, I personally would go with LogMeInIgnition, over iTeleport. Ive used iTeleport for YEARS... struggled at first with port forwarding, and then I got it working. Loved it. Its great, but it just so happens LogMeInIgnition is better.

If you wanna know more, just ask!

This is iTeleport.

I went with the Desktop app.

First off it was much cheaper then log me in and second it doesn't require a server app running on the host machine.

I had 4 profiles set up, one for my Macbook, my Mini, and with a little help from the IT guy at my last job I had both an internal and external remote login to my work PC. It's was pretty slick.

Updates have been good and addressed issues in a timely fashion.
