I missed the initial storm about this, but isn't card counting legal? Or is it illegal when a device is used to help?

It's not illegal, but you'll get kicked out of a casino for doing it. Especially if you use a device to help.

Actually Nevada casinos claim it's a felony. I'm not sure how they got that passed and I personally wouldn't want to test the laws.

card counting is legal and if you get caught, you will be asked to leave*

using a device to count cards in a casino is VERY ILLEGAL and you will get in trouble (jail and a felony)

*legal if using only your mind

You don't know why it's illegal and a felony to rob casinos? seriously?

Everything in the casino is stacked against the player. A card counting device gives you a very slight advantage over the casino but it's not like a x-ray machine that lets you read the cards or anything like that. So I wouldn't equate it to robbing.

That's why I seriously don't know why it's a FELONY and not a misdemeanor.

That said, casino's are powerful and I would not risk using it myself.

If people use this app at home and they learn how to count cards in their head, not get kicked out, and win consistently then I'm all for it.

Well of course

It is cheating and thus robbing as cheating a casino game is robbing the casino money

So I wouldn't equate it to robbing.
you'd be wrong then

When cheating can result in thousands, if not millions of dollars obtained illegally, you need harsh penalties to curb cheaters

It's weird there's so many people on the casino's side over this.

But these people want it both ways as well. They say card counting devices are useless you can do it in your head anyway, then they say you can't use a card counting device because it's cheating. So which one is it?

If you can do it in your head why can't you do it with a device? What's the difference? Do you call people who count cards in their head, cheaters that are robbing the casino? If you do call them that, why are they simply kicked out at the casino's discretion and not charged with a felony?

I understand the law says that using a device is a felony. I'm just questioning the validity of that law. Like I said it helps to count cards which may give you a slight advantage but doesn't make winning a certainty.
