Hi! I have a rather complex(?) question.

Is it possible to have like a "watched folder" with some converting software that automatically convert e.g avi files when discovered and then saves the result in the "Add to iTunes automatically".

This would really really good if it was possible :) So, experts. What do you say?

There's an app on the Mac App Store called iVi that I use to convert avi files and it will automatically load them into iTunes once done with the conversion.

Sounds very interesting! Do you think there is a way to do everything from download process to the itunes library completely automatically?

I don't know of an app that will download, convert and add to iTunes all-in-one ( not saying there isn't one) but you on iVi I know you can specify a "Source Folder" like your download folder so the program will check that spot each time you start it, you click one button and it starts the conversion and iTunes placement process.

It is fairly easy to use, it also tags the files with any metadata.

Just looking for conversion and iTunes sync. That app sounds perfect for me then! Thank you very much!
