Aidropping photos and videos takes an eternity for me now.
Last night I sent 3 short videos I had taken on my iPhone X. The videos were HEVC, 4K 60fps, and about 10 seconds long each.
When I sent them, it took 8 minutes to go through “converting” them. In the early days of iOS 11, converting photos and videos only happened when the other person wasn’t using iOS 11, or if their devices were too old.
But all of my airdrops now do it, and since getting the iPhone X, the problem has been flagrantly exposed because of 4K/60fps.
My best friends all own either iPhone X’s, or iPhone 7 Plus’ and conversion has been required to airdrop every time.
