Convert a fisheye photo to normal

Anyone have an easy, and not too expensive, don't want to buy the Adobe packages, to convert a Fisheye photo to a normal one please.

I have some iOS apps but I want the facility to do it on my iMac. I'd really prefer a Photos for Mac extension if possible, but if not a separate Mac app.

I'm finding it so difficult to do, I thought as the popularity of GoPro and drones that take fisheye it would be more readily available.

Anyone help, or post their experiences please

Good "de-fishing" of a fisheye image involves a good bit of image processing effort. It is easy for the user to do with the right software, but the "under the hood" work is significant. Generally, it is a function available in the more powerful image editing software.

The popularity of GoPros and drones that produce fisheye effects does, on the one hand, lead to the likelyhood that such apps exist, it doesn't, on the other hand, lead to thinks such apps are free or inexpensive. After all, GoPros and the better camera drones aren't cheap.

You best hope for an inexpensive solution would be to look for a "plugin" or add-in for Photos that would provide the service and to look for the panorama/stitching apps, like Hugin. These stitching apps have to deal with similar distortions and some may be usable with a single image. Its been years since I've played with these now that my Photoshop and Lightroom have the functions that I need.

I agree, I may have worded a bit wrong, I don't mind paying for an app that does what it says, happy to support developers.

I would have thought, as you say, that GoPro etc would have a lot more apps , but I can't seem to find what I want. Ideally yes a plugin, compatible with Photos for Mac just doing this de-fish is what I'm after.

Lightroom and photoshop are all in apps, which are way way above what I need and want. other apps, like above are I bet are fantastic, but again overkill for what I want.

I've tried basing it on GoPro in the MAS but still can't find one, some for video, but my device takes normal video, but fisheye pics

I have a GoPro and use it sometimes *because* of the fisheye result.

Do you have a number of photos you want converted, or just a one time thing?

A lot, every time I use it, it creates fisheye so want a sort of permanent way to convert.

No... it's a piece of software that does lens corrections . It can be used as a standalone or incorporated into Photoshop , but not Lightroom , as a plug in . Think it's around $20 but there's a free trial that's good for 10 images .

Hmmm....I think it will be hard to find a budget option for what you want, unfortunately.

It does look like it will unfortunately. I was hoping with the popularity of GoPro, action cams, drones etc which have fisheye pictures that they would be standalone apps, and even plugin's for Photos for Mac by now.

There is one called liquivid video fisheye removal, but it's only for video and it works on a whole range of drones.

You might be able to extract individual frames and export them as images somehow using another app after running them through the liquivid app.
