Convert Analog audio to digital

Hello..
I bought an Audio-Technica AT4040 as a studio mic. I want to convert the analog signal to digital. I've been running it through a Canon GL2...but I'd like some sort of stand-alone box...so I don't tie up the camera. The AT4040 is XLR(of course) and runs through a pre-amp...which also has an XLR output.
So the device needs to have an XLR input(from the mic) and a firewire output (to the Mac).

I'd like anyone's suggestions for an inexpensive analog to digital converter, to go into my Macpro...via the firewire input. Thanks...

Those don't do FireWire, even though I'm not sure why he's requesting FireWire only solutions.

Those aren't bad, but there are cheaper solutions out there, especially USB based.
