One of the iTunes features I love is the option to convert my Apple Lossless tracks to 128 AAC files on my Shuffle. I wish (and have repeatedly submitted suggestions) Apple would activate this feature on the iPhone (and all the flash based iPods). Obviously, the ability is written into iTunes and would take a simple tweek of the code to turn it on.

I'm sort of tired of waiting, though. Does anyone out there have any idea how one might go about making this change themself?

And yes, I am aware that I can make a smaller copy of the songs I want, but that creates extra tracks, disorganization and, worst of all, screws up playcounts.

I just asked Apple for that feature. I really wish they would incorporate it. As for your question, I have no idea. I bet there's some sort of AppleScript, or if you know AppleScript you could make one.

Hey, it looks like that DVD guy is a spammer. You should report him and his post.
