Convert Windows partition to NTFS?

This is for a friend of mine. HONEST.

I told him about the command line trick (convert c: /FS:NTFS)...but since this is for his bootcamped partition, it's also his Windows boot volume.

It seems to me that it should work anyway...but I have no way to test it since I formatted mine NTFS to begin with.

convert c: /fs:ntfs works for the boot volume. The only "variable" here is Boot Camp, it should be OK but I'd take a backup just in case.

nah, no variables, no problem. command as listed is the way to go.

i would recommend selecting windows under startup disk, then boot into windows, open a command window and type the command, it will say "can't do it now, do you want to do it the next time windows starts?" say yes, and reboot. you will see the xp splash screen and then it will start the conversion, and drop you into windows when it's done.

as always, doing anything, a backup is an excellent suggestion! best of luck.
