Converting A2 to A4

Does anyone know the easiest way to bulk convert A2 PDFs to A4? I have the originals in Ill CS4. I thought about printing A4 to .ps in acrobat, but it seems overly fiddly.

if you have acrobat pro (note mines on windows so it might be slightly different), export all the files to pdf, combine them to make a pdf booklet so its one file (if needed) and then print them using 'adobe pdf' with 'fit to page' and a4 paper sizes selected.

I'd assume a mac version can do the same but I don't have acrobat installed on mine.

Thanks LeviG, I'm not printing them myself, it's my client that wants them as both A4 and A2. I figure I can save myself a half days work if I can batch convert them instead of scaling/aligning the contents of each.

Create an action in Photoshop, and then apply action to the batch of files

Okay, I don't know about bulk, and I don't know about the quality of the output, but you can tell automator to amalgamate all of your A2 pdf's, open it in Preview, then in there choose your paper size, then at the bottom section, select 'Scale to fit each paper'. If you have problems with the margins scaling properly, you might have to make a custom paper size. Then save it as PDF at the bottom left menu.

Fire up that new scaled PDF in Adobe Acrobat, then separate them all out again.

By printing to pdf it makes a new file in 'a4' which would save you time I would have thought.

Either I'm missing something here or it's easy peasy!!!

No need to convert any files - to create an A4 from an A2, just print it out at a straight 50% reduction. If your originals are A4, print those out to A2 at 200%. Job done.
