Dont mind if i have 2 copies, but is there any free apps to convert .avi's? Also something with a pre-set that has things such as PS3, iPod Touch etc. would be great, it seems Handbrake cant do this.

i tried just about every free software there is trying to do this... i don`t know how these .avis are encoded, but mine were either DivX or XviD (one of those...) and it was a total nightmare to get them onto my ipod in watchable quality, and with sound to boot.

it isn`t free, but if none of the free ones work for you, VisualHub is totally worth it. very cheap, very fast and very user-friendly, and includes presets for all of the above (well i`ll get back to you about ps3.. :p)

iSquint is free and simple, or you can upgrade to VisualHub for more advanced tinkering. VLC also has lots of tinkering features.

FFMPEGX Just basically '****s' the aspect ratio, no matter what i use, only 2 out 10 have actually worked, and kept the ratio

iSquint is next stop.

Is there any way to make these avi films that i use on vlc compatible to work in Imovie to play around with?
