Hi, I'm new so hope this is the right place to be posting this.....

I'm using Handbrake to convert AVI files to bung into iTunes to watch on my Apple TV 2. I've just started using this, was using quicktime before which was working fine... seemingly until Lion came along.

I've converted my first few films this evening and on both of them the audio has worked it's way out of sync, by the time you're half an hour in the audio is infuriatingly out. This is the same wether viewing on iTunes on on the ATV.

Just wondering if anyone has any suggestions for avoiding this, tweaks that I could make to prefferences in Handbrake, or is it purely because my iMac's getting a bit old and slow and I shouldn't be attempting to multitask anything on it anymore? Any insight?

Thanks in advance! :D

You might try the nightly builds if you haven't already. How old is your iMac? I wouldn't think multitasking would cause problems, other than slowing down the process, depending on the age/RAM of your iMac.

Thanks for your reply - had a look at the nightly builds, not sure eactly what they do but will have a closer look, thanks for the tip.

are you using the atv2 preset when converting the avi's ? i can't see why your Mac being a little old would affect it.

Hi! Yes using the atv2 preset.... i wasn't sure why the age would really affect it but been having a few issues lately in terms of avi's downloading glitchy but re downloading the same avi file again is fine, and then the sound going funny exporting from quicktime.

I seem to have the vast majority of my films copied across with no syncing probs just the odd stubborn one... but i can't work out why if the avi is fine? Oh well.

Thanks for your help!

Just use air video .. and then air play to tv using your apple tv2... I would not waste my time converting all that

Air Video is incredible!

Oh my God! Thank you so much! I've been wanting something like this for ages. I was having so much trouble converting some movies into a format that iTunes could stream to the Apple TV, but this app has completely solved the problem. What a great app!

Can I just tell you? My sole purpose of remaining on iPhone was because of this app. This app literally saved my headache and time... I am cheap as they come (and also JB) but I make sure I pay for this app since this is one of the greatest.. Also, there are osx(although beta) version for air video client.. which works supremely nice(obviously it's not as nice as ones in iOS).

I was so sure of moving to DROID for my next phone but today's iOS 6 news restored lot of my faith to iPhone.. But I digress, this is a must for any multimedia iOS ..
