Hi!
Not sure if this is the right place to ask, iI just know that there are a lot of knowledgeable people here:
I have a MPEG-TS stream that I'd like to convert to a normal mp4. The video codec is H.264, audio codec is AAC. Basically, I'd just like to pack it into a new container without reencoding. I have tried VLC with the option to keep the existing formats without reencoding and set the encapsulation to MP4/MOV. The result is a usable m4v-file, but it bothers me a little that I cannot rename it to mp4 and that it's not playable in QuickTime (or Quicklook). VLC doesn't allow me to save it with the mp4-extension instead, stating it does require m4v. I don't understand why that is, after what I have read it should work.
It's not really that important, but I'd like it to be QuickLook compatible.
