Hello, I am looking to install OS X El Capitan on a 1,1/2,1. I have already made many adjustments for doing so, but I am stuck.

I have an install app for installing the OS, which of course doesn't work. I want to create an "installed" .dmg file, then simply restore it to my target drive. My problem is that I simply don't know how to do that. I am a little bit of a MacNewbie.

I would really appreciate any help!

What is a "1,1/2,1" ?

I've been around Macs for 30 years, and have no idea what you're talking about.

It's a mod, meaning a mp1,1 that has been converted to a 2,1 (via BIOS flash).

Typically you can use the "createinstallmedia" command-line tool to make a bootable USB drive. Instructions are here, although I can't guarantee that it'll work if you've hacked around with the original .app.
