I want to store my contacts on gmails address book system (already on address book on my mac and hotmail, yay vcard support from hotmail). How can i convert my vcards to a .csv file

Converting .csv to spreadsheets on a Mac

I have the opposite need: Namely to convert simple .csv data into a spreadsheet, that is a grid instead of a line separated by a punctuation mark.

Any suggestions?

I know what you mean, just open your Excel program, then do a File-Open command and select the .csv file you saved. You will probably be taken through a wizard, where you should select "delimited" in the first dialogue box, then choose "comma" as the delimiter. That usually works, though you may have to play with the delimiters depending on how the .csv file is actually set up.

Good luck!

After struggling with Address Book syncing across devices, I discovered that Numbers seems to offer more capabilities in moving from vCard to csv. I rarely use Numbers, but it was useful in this instance.
