Hmmm... isn't there a limit on the size of the file? IE 5 gigs is the magic number?
Negative. For a 32 bit mp4 the magic number is 4 GB. which is totally unrelated to HB or the atv.
However, the atv preset and any derivative of it should include 64 bit mp4 file formatting, which basically means it can be as big as you want. The atv could care less.

Hmmmm...... Ok, how do I get the 64 bit mp4 file? Is there a setting in HB?

Edit:

Ok I found the 64bit setting, it says this breaks the compatiblitiy with many target devices, such as iPod as well as iTunes streaming to AppleTV. In essence, if I want the 64 bit, I have to have the files stored locally on the AppleTV correct?

I have found some sites that says you can stream and others that say you can't. Wondering if this will work.

Thanks

Yes, and no. Yes, at the time HB 0.9.2 was released, the atv software had some issues with streaming 64 bit mp4's (I forget the atv sofware rev). However, at this time, atv software 2.2 streams 64 bit mp4's just fine. So, yes any atv encode should include 64 bit mp4 formatting and can be however large and the atv will do just fine with it.

Note: the atv seems to always be a moving target as they improve the software.

Thanks again for the tips and suggestions. I am now off to rip some 600 dvd's.... well maybe I won't rip them alllllll :D
