converting video for iphone

i see in quicktime that theres an option to export video as ipod and iphone. is there any difference or do they do the same thing?

If they are coming from DVDs, i would use handbrake and compress it there, and then run it through isquint. I use isquint to compress all my videos for my phone, from DVD or not.

i already have my tv in avi format. does isquint do non dvds?

iSquint is just an overall converter. It's the only one i could find that converts .flv files and i have a lot of them.
