Excuse my lack of 5.1 knowledge but i'll explain this simply as I can.

ISSUE
I have video I have converted using handbreak and iSkysoft (DTS audio and some AC3)
After i've converted, I right click, get info and see they are only '2 channels'.

QUESTIONS
Do you have to set 5.1 in handbreak? What gives, as get info and quicktime info say 2 channel..
Does anyone know if iSkysoft converts 5.1 audio?
Anything else I should know?

Thanks for the help...my mac is a little burnt out and disappointed from all the overnight conversion! Handbreak should have an ATV2 preset...hope they do..

Handbrake supports 5.1 as well as adding multiple types of tracks to your files. In general, you should use one of the nightly builds of handbrake which support DTS to AC3 conversion in case some of the files you pass are DTS and not Dolby. You can download from here: https://build.handbrake.fr/view/Nightlies/

Make sure you donwload the GUI version.

I do not know what file you are feeding into handbrake, but in general once you choose the video source, you have preset options. Their should be a tray to the left of the application with the presets. If not, you can go into the menu and choose presets. I choose ipad and then set the picture setting width to 1280.

Once you load your source file, just go to the audio tab and choose your sound track. Select AC3 or AC3 passthru if its already a dolby track. Then add a secondary audio track that is AAC.

Then you should be good to go.
