Cool iphone feature i dont think ANYONE knows about

Ok you know how in the iphone commercials when they show someone calling or them calling someone the contact is just a small pic in the right upperhand conner..

but if you add a contact on your iphone the picture of the person is the whole background of the phone

well i just figured out how to make it like they do in the commercials..

this is on a mac..

I put all my contacts into adress book on my mac and synced with that ..now anytime i call someone or someone calls me its in the upper right hand conner

I think almost everybody knows how to do this you can also take a pic of somebody and add it to your contacts! Sorry!

I am not STUPID i know you can add a photo to any contact but UNLESS you sync with adressbook on a mac you cant get the pic in the right hand conner

and my iphone is jailbroken thats how i got the att logo
 
Remember seeing this in a thread when the iPhone was first released, i certainly have known about it since then.
 
haha oppps ..well i called apple awhile ago and asked how to do this.. they told me you cant and its just on the commericial
 
I've had my iPhone from when it first came out, now on a 3G, and had MobileMe all the time. And I am so glad I am not the only retard out there. Used contacts on my Mac and was like, OMG LIL SQAURE.

OP- we need to high five sometime.

I've since changed all my contact pictures to the little square version.

I love MacRumors! :)
 
hahah wow some people get so crazy about a thread on here hahah ..Yea like i said when i Called apple about it awhile ago they told me you cant do that and its only in the commercials for some reason..so sorry i thought you couldnt do it because an apple tech told me you couldnt.. people are still say "epic Fail" what are we in 8th grade ?
 
I didn't know about this and I certainly wouldn't have thought to do a search for it, either. So, thanks for the tip, it looks a lot better than having a full screen pic.

To get it straight, I need to add the picture to address book on my Mac then sync, right? What if I use OTA syncing? Does it still do it?
 
The same thing applies if you sync up to an exchange server for your mail / contacts.
The only problem I have had though, is anytime I have tried this by adding a picture to my outlook / exchange file, it works great as far as it being a little picture up on the top right, but the picture that I add always looks crappy & grainy. It never turns out as clear as the pic that was added.

Not sure if there is a work around for that, if so, would love to hear it. :confused:

not just to bust your nuts, but you might want to fix up your grammar

and plenty of people say "epic fail" that aren't in the 8th grade, they're in the 7th grade

I use a windows PC so i guess i cant do that little picture in teh corner thing? Not that it matters much. Im fine with them being big too.
