SO my buddy I crossfit with everday showed up today with this new product and it was pretty damn cool.

With Crossfit when you wear wrist wraps or do alot of wrist flexion the watch would get in the way sometimes this totally cures that.

He tested it today and worked amazing. Going to put one up for the Series 2. Thought I would share

Yeah it for sure solves the issue with flexion at the wrist. We both did the same workout and his heart rate data was much more stable with the placement on the bicep then mine at the wrist. Not too mention you wont smash your watch when throwing around kettlebells etc

Thanks so much for posting this - we are really interested to hear first hand experience of people using them and what they think. We're so glad to hear you (and he) like it! Have a great day!

Once I get my grubby hands on it, I will do a review for Crossfit use. Ordered this morning

I decided to just do a quick Crossfit workout. Popped the watch into the band wrapped around the bicep. Felt a little odd at first. Wanted to do a workout where I would have normally had the watch on my wrist and done alot of wrist flexion and wore wrist wraps over my watch.

Workout consisted of the following

3 set of 5 overhead squats
then
7 min AMRAP Ladder
3 Thrusters at 100 pounds
3 chest to bar pullups
6 Thrusters
6 ctb
9 thrusters
9 ctb
12 thruster
12 ctb

and so on until the 7 minutes was up.

You can see how it wraps around the bicep

Without this Action Sleeve my Apple Watch would be under the wrist wraps and I cant pull them snug enough to really benefit from the wrist wrap. This was awesome

Here is two charts comparing these two workouts. First one is with the watch on the wrist and the second is with the action sleeve. You can see the difference in the readings. I would say this is pretty good proof that having the watch in the action sleeve is almost list having a schosche Rythm + or another HRM strap on. The first image is showing that the sampling rate is every few minutes off and on.

This is the image from todays workout wearing the Action Sleeve. You can see the sample rates are more often and more constant.

This is my first comparison but it shows me the product makes sense and I am stoked to be using it. I am going to be a much larger review and video maybe and throw it up on youtube. Cant recommend this product enough. Great Job Twelve South

That is good to hear. I'm thinking of getting one as well. By the way, what app is that? Sorry if I missed it in your post.

That is HeartWatch pretty detailed app. Still trying to figure out all the data that it collects. Its almost like the activity app on steroids

I wish I was better at making review videos ( I may try to do something this weekend) I would brag this thing up like crazy on You Tube

I will shoot you an email with my information. Thank you so much!
[doublepost=1485456673][/doublepost]Ok here is another comparison. If anyone wants more info or test data let me know

The first Picture is with the Apple Watch on my wrist doing the following workout about 20 days ago. I was using Under Armour Record as the App

The second Picture is the same workout below with the ActionSleeve on my right bicep

5 sets of 5 Deadlifts starting at 185 ending at 285
Then
3 rounds for time of
21 Kettlebell Swings
15 Box jumps at 24inches
9 Chest to bar pullups

Look at how the Heartrate drops to like 58 or something using the watch at the wrist. But with it in constant contact it never drops out. I am not that technical but its also sampling more often and pretty constant.

I bought mine a few months ago in March and these two pieces have pulled apart. It's not a very well made accessory.

Hmm I’ve had my coming up on a year now and it’s still holding together just fine. I don’t use it every day, 2-3 times per week, but it’s been a champ. I agree it’s not a destruction-proof product, but it’s made of thinner materials that are meant for sweaty works but will be subject to easier breakage.

Again though, so far after a year it has held up for me just fine.
