Has anyone tested CoolBook on the new MBP?
How much longer battery life do you get if you are using it?
If you have a C2D MBP please give it a try and let me know, I really need this app. http://www.coolbook.se

I got a C2D 2.0 ghz macbook today, mate. It works at least so far that it displays voltage, frequency and temperature. Right now it shows 1002 mhz, 0,9500 V and 47C. I cannot alter anything however. If you want tests you should release a trial build that allows changes.

The maximum voltage seems to be 1,2000 V at 2004 MHz.

CoreDuoTemp is a free alternative, though not as full-featured and i'm not sure if it'll work on the C2Ds. worth a shot since it's free!

I also recommend smc fan control. its free 99 and works great. me personally I don't want to be messing around with all that jive that coolbook has to offer.

The idea is sound. The heat emission of the cpu is directly related to power consumed. Lowering the voltage could affect this, and it seems to work very well on the Yonah / C1D based Macbooks.

Now wy isn't CoolBook Controller available as a widget, MacKarl?
