So, I've been running XP in VMware lately.. just because I miss that good ol start menu.

Well, I downloaded a live CD of KDE4, and was copying it over to my mac desktop while listening to U2 in Windows Media Player.

Then VMWare crashed. It completely quit on me, it's not in my dock anymore or anything... but my U2 is still playing!

I don't quite know how to stop it either. I mean, is it possible to run WMP without running XP? either way, this is one seriously cool bug!

Discuss: Have you ever had a serious windows bug kick some major you-know-what?

EDIT: Drat, nevermind.. I opened up VMWare and the window with XP, along with the dock icon, came back to me.. and here I was thinking I was all cool and had a possessed PC

I've had a similar experience running a windows VM under windows (as the host). The VMWare app crashed but the VM was still running. Apparently they are run in a separate process to the app which you interact with them through.
