Co Pilot GPS sucks!

I managed to get a refund for Co Pilot GPS. I was having issues where there were entire neighborhoods in my town that were 5 years and older and they weren't even showing up on their maps.

Fair enough... I contacted them to inquire about updated maps, when they would be available and how much money. I get a response back saying these were the most recent maps, end of discussion. At this point I asked for a refund and received no reply for over a week. By now Im pretty pissed off and have purchased Navigon so that I have a working GPS.

After I write back again, asking if they were planning on responding to me I finally get a response saying that they will give me a free update to the new maps once they come out. Let me remind you this is about 10 days from my original inquiry and I have already purchased Navigon because of their original response to me. At this point I write back explaining all of this and they respond rather quickly saying that they can not give out refunds.

Next step was taking all of these emails and forwarding them on to Apple, 6 hours later I have my refund.

Had Co Pilot told me that I would be eligible for a free update I would have gladly waited and spent $35 less than Navigon. I really had no problems with the software itself, just the maps. That being said... I am more than pleased with Navigon!

As I understand it, CoPilot uses their own maps in the US. So for some, that might be bad - others, it might be good. For example, I live in the Charlotte NC area and I found the CoPilot maps to be more up to date than Navigon or TomTom. And I'm not just talking about neighborhoods. I-485 is the interstate loop that goes around the city. There is a major new section of it that opened a year ago and has been under construction for several. CoPilot is the only one that has it.

I was a CoPilot user on a WinMo device in the past. I found them to be a good company for both support & updates. I'm sorry you had a bad experience with the iPhone product but I think it's the exception more than the rule. And whether you're talking about CoPilot, Navigon or TomTom, all of them are basically "version 1.0". Updates are immanent for all of them.

Which CoPilot Live....US? The update isn't showing up in the app store. I've had nothing but GREAT success with CoPilot.....it's just what I need in a GPS device and I'm glad I didn't spend the extra money on Navigon, Tom-Tom, etc.

Yesh, it's actually a very good GPS. It just shows allot of streets in my area that have never existed. That is my only complaint. It sure beats Navigon in my opinion, I can actually read the street names.

Co pilot live 8 upgrade

I must also complain. After installing the upgrade for my Copilot 8 Favorites have been deleted: / all the information that I collected have disappeared. Does anyone know how to avoid this in the future? And why did this happen?
