I bought the USA-Only version of CoPilot for $4.99 and then swiftly purchased the TTS in-app add on for a cheap $2.99 -- at least I think I did.

Because today when driving there is absolutely no TTS .. all it tells me to do is turn in a direction - no street names.

For anyone who has this app, where is the TTS? Is it a bug?

Here are the instructions I found on Copilot's website:

Firstly please make sure that you have selected Text to Speech correctly in CoPilot Live v8:
a) Tap MENU > SETTINGS > LANGUAGE AND SPEECH
b) Choose the Text To Speech voice (TTS voices have an * next to them)
c) Exit and restart CoPilot Live v8
d) Select MENU > SETTINGS > LANGUAGE AND SPEECH and tap the TEST button. You should now hear the Text To Speech voice

I did this and my tts works now!!

There's no * next to any of the voices on mine.

Do you have the North American version or the USA version?

I have it but I bought the full version with it already included.

So far it's confirmed that the full North American version has TTS .. but not the USA-Only one .. even though it clearly notes that it's available on iTunes.

Okay ..

i have the USA one. I bought it for $4.99. Try this: go into Copilot Store, click on restore licenses, put in your password to restore license for TTS. After that go into settings, speech and make sure enable tts help is on. I did all of that before following the steps on copilot's website. After that, another voice (*Frank) appeared in the Language & Voice menu.

Thank you! But that is pretty stupid - both voices for English US and UK sound stupid as hell. Why aren't all the voices enabled for TTS? Oh well .. I get what I pay for ...

This is pretty standard on most GPS units. I have a Garmin Nuvi and not all the voices on it are enabled for TTS.

Khryz -

How you liking Copilot so far?

I'm looking to buy an app and am on the fence between copilot and Navigon.
Navigon gets great reviews but I don't drive enough to justify the $49 tag.

Copilot does have turn by turn voice guidance, right?
