iPhone Copy data from an App with intact metadata

Hey all,

So i have this app called Music D/L. Its one of the best apps for the music out there.

It has exact categories as Itunes Store and has the links of all the songs along with their remixes.

So it lets your stream and download the songs as well. However, unlike previous version of the app, you cannot transfer those songs through itunes File sharing.

I,however, can ssh into the app filesystem and get the data from there.

However, the file names are gibberish and makes no sense. Also the meta data of the songs is gone. So there is no way to figure out the songs without playing.

Is there a way i can get those songs with the meta data. The data is there somewhere because the app shows the song name along with all the meta data in tact.

It sounds to me like maybe the app isn't using metadata but is using a database file with the track info stored in it. Then it can give the files gibberish names.

I downloaded the app to test this and downloaded some music files but I can't seem to find them! Where did you find the files? I'm using iFile, not SSH, and have looked in the app folder itself(the folder size doesn't change even though I've downloaded 100MB+ of music to test)

I have copied all the songs with the help of ifunbox. Didnt try to see the ifile because it has no application names.

So is it still possible?

I'm not sure. In iFile you can show app names by turning the option on in its settings.

I don't know the folder where it's saving the actual music files. I've checked some places but get nothing.

FOUND THEM!

I used Filza(like iFile) to get to the documents folder. Interestingly, the song name shows up for me if I play the music inside the Filza app for three of the four songs I downloaded. One just has numbers like its file name. However, that file shows up properly in Music DL(along with its artwork). Strange!

I don't know if/why ifunbox removes the song data from the file but try some more. Maybe they were like that already?
