Hello, forum

Here's where I stand.

I need to copy data from a mid-2012 15" rMBP's SSD without booting. I tried creating a live GParted disk using unetbootin but it doesn't appear in the boot menu. Any help?

Regards

Okay, so I remembered that I can use the terminal in the local recovery mode. How can I use that to copy files from the SSD to an external SSD?

I've confirmed that both drives are working fine in the terminal. I tried the "copy -R" command but it listed all files as not found. Any help?

Well, I resolved the issue. I remembered that OS X doesn't support NTFS. I tested the cp -R command on a FAT32 USB drive and voila! I'm now clearing an old external HDD and formatting it to HFS+.

Issue Resolved.
