I noticed that when I use Photoshop's "Save for Web" feature it strips all Exif data from my images. I'm looking to re-import photos edited in photoshop back into iPhoto and it's annoying that all metadata, including geotags are gone. Is there any utility, plug in, or some other way to add this information back by copying it from the source image, or better yet, prevent PS from removing it in the first place?

What version of PhotoShop? I have PS CS6 and the Save for Web dialogue box has a drop down that lets me choose metadata (EXIF) to include or not.

The second pic is from EXIF Viewer.

EDIT: As far as putting it back after it's gone, I doubt it. It's a part of the file that's been removed.

Thanks for the tip, but apparently photoshop (at least my copy of CS6) is buggy in one small but crucial for me way. I used the drop down selector to save "All" EXIF info, and while it saved the camera information fine, it trimmed geotags to the nearest full degree AND flipped the longitude value from West to East  That's just ridiculous. I found that I can overwrite all the data fully and correctly with the command line exiftool, so I'm gonna use that in the future, at least I can script it to do files in bulk.

Don't use save to web if you want to preserve *ALL* EXIF. Just do a standard Save As -> jpeg.

Still interested *bump*

Aviary 3.6.2 on iOS currently strips out the EXIF data of photos when saving an edited photo (copy).

Are there any Mac OS X or iOS apps which can copy the metadata from one photo into the metadata of another selected photo?
