OK, so I may be being dumb here.....

I have 2 directories that contain the exact same list of movies. One holds the originals and one holds re-encodes. Some files in each directory are smaller in file size than in the other, so the smaller files are spread across the two.

How can I just do a "copy if file is smaller" between the 2 so that one directory contains all the smaller movies.... or a new directory contains the copy of the file that is the smallest size from each source dir.

I also have Pathfinder, but can't see anything in there...

Are you saying that some of the re-encodes are larger?

Otherwise just drag the contents of the re-encode folder into the folder with all the originals...

Yes.

It's a bunch of training videos in various source formats.... some MP4 re-encodes are actually larger, as are most re-encodes from FLV to MP4.
