Anybody else find that copy and paste across ios devices works intermittently?

For me it works for a few hours or days and then stops until I reboot one or more of the devices.

Another flakey icloud service from Apple.

Had issues with handoff and copy paste on my phone to my Mac after updating. Still worked from my watch to my Mac though. Did a reset all settings on my phone and it fixed it. Copying works great and so does handoff.

Can someone explain how that even works?

I have macbook sierra and ios 11.2 ..?

If your devices are logged into the same iCloud account you can copy on one and paste on the other.

For me it works for a few hours or a couple of days then fails until I reboot one or more devices.

The common troubleshooting step for this seems to be to sign out and back in to iCloud on all your devices. Which, if you're anything like me, is not worth the effort.

But I found out last week that just changing your iCloud password achieves the same thing, is a lot quicker, and now Continuity works properly 95% of the time, whereas before it nearly never worked.

Thanks for the tip. Logging out of icloud on all devices is not feasible for me. Too much hassle.

I may try the password thing as you suggest.

For me continuity works well apart from copy and paste. It works for a few hours or days after a re-boot then fails again. Maybe you could post back here in a few days and let us know if copy and paste still works consistently.

Well I did it a few days ago and copy and paste still works nearly all the time.

My AirPods also now switch device in about 5-10 seconds - before it could take 15 seconds or more, and fail about half the time.

Before this I tried absolutely everything apart from signing out of iCloud. Resetting Handoff settings, debugging Bluetooth modules, resetting Bluetooth modules, renaming devices (in the hope it would update pairing profiles), changing Wi-Fi router, and so on. Wish I had thought to change the password earlier. :p

“Nearly all of the time”.

You’d think it would work all of the time.

It’s hardly brain science and Apple are hardly a 2 bit company.
