I recently recorded a docu from my digi box to my Sony GX300 DVD recorder. I want to copy this to another DVD disc for a friend, but when I stick the disc in my Mac, it doesn't mount or play?

Does anyone have any ideas of software that can rectify this?

If its a DVD+R or +RW disk, I believe you are out of luck for getting the info off the disk with the normal drive that are in the Macs. Macs use a DVD-R and -RW, notice the difference - and +, which makes them different formats.

So, you need to find a friend that has a PC that has a DVD drive, preferabably one with a DVD burner so it will most likely read the +R format, and hopefully you can get the info off the disk with some DVD ripper software. Then you can transfer it back to a mac over ethernet, then use some Handbrake or iMovie to make a DVD for your buddy.

Again, the Sony DVD recorder thing you have, might just burn proprietary disk that can only be played in Sony players or in that player itself. Basically you have to get inventive right now.
