How do I copy a user accout? I've got a user account that I've locked down so that it's limited for some family that are coming to say. I want an accout for each person. I want each to have the same files in it to (a load of photos and stuff).

Is there a quick way to do this?

I think having all of the files on a bunch of different accounts is really going to just kill your harddrive space, you'd probably be better off with just one account for all of the guests - i've done similar things in the past. One account really works fine.

That was what I was going to do, but an argument between two seven year olds will not be good. I am trying to avoid that :). There's not many files, I'm only going ot give them about 2 gig each. I've got plent of space (just over 100 gig free), and it's going to be deleted once they've gone. So that's not a problem.

1. You could create separate accounts for the little guys and move all of the stuff you want them to have access to into the Shared directory.

2. Or, since you have plenty of free space, you could duplicate the files you want them to have access to and put them into the Shared directory...that way you're not moving your own stuff around. And it's simple to just delete it all from Shared once they leave.

3. Or, you can make sure they each have their own copy of the files. I haven't done this before, but here's how I would do it: Copy the files you want them to have to each of their public drop boxes (after you've created their accounts of course).

I'm looking more to duplicate a whole account (how it's set up mainly, I could do the files my self). It too long to set up the first account as I wasn't sure what I was doing, and can't remeber how I did it.

I'll work on it more in the morning, it's time for bed.

ah, i always forget that people actually have harddrive space. I have a 40gig harddrive on my iBook (my main computer), so I am very wary of how I use my space.

I know what you mean. I can remember getting a 120 gig HD for my Windows Box years back (only had 40 gig before). Took me a while to remeber not to uninstall games after use and things. I love the space, maybe you should look into a external drive?
