copying custom icons

let me say I'm sorry if this has been hit a dozen times already, I am going crazy trying to figure this out and haven't successfully found the answer searching the many forums on the 'net. I want to use some custom orbz icons (or rename what's there) and I cannot figure out where to go once I ssh into my phone. please, help. if someone can tell me the full path I'll be on my way. thanks so much in advance. and if you can point me to a solid tutorial on this that I missed, I'll feel like a dunce but would like to know where I missed it.
