I'm a longtime PC user but will be buying a new 24" M1 iMac at the end of this month. I currently have all of my music files, videos and pictures on an old Glyph external hard drive (formatted NTFS). I was planning to buy a new Glyph Studio 8TB hard drive (formatted HFS+ Journaled) and was wondering if I can use my current PC to copy all of the files from my old Windows formatted hard drive to the new Mac formatted drive before my iMac gets here. Also, have any of you done this and did you run into any problems when you connected the Mac-formatted hard drive to your Mac for the first time? Thanks!

It would be easier to wait until you have the iMac to copy the files. OS X can read from the NTSF drive (but can not write to it without third party software). So copying the files from the NTSF drive to your new HSF+ drive would be a breeze.
