Copying folder with custom icon reverts to mac default folder icon

Hi all,

I have come across a strange issue in the finder when copying a folder or folder structure with custom-set icons, after pasting, they quickly revert to the mac default folder icon.

Does anyone know why this might be happening? Is there a way to fix this?

Update:

For whatever reason, this is only happening on the Macintosh HD boot drive. Folders with custom icons copy fine on my external drives.. So weird. Anyways, hopefully this helps someone down the road!
