So I did the data transfer and it mapped over all my pictures (took them all out of order, hoped it would keep the albums as they were) and it copied contacts and it says texts but only copied the last message of each text, not the whole conversation. Does it not copy it all? Is there a way to resort the pictures??

Also, anyone on Verizon notice the Samsung Cloud option is not listed??

Doesn't help with your current sorting but Google Photos is your friend. :D Embrace the cloud solution. It's an awesome tool for photo management on its own but also makes changing devices far easier.

Use any mac/pc, drag all your pics to the desktop, organise them however u want, drop them back in your pictures folder, sorted.

I'm curious about the texts. I still have to transfer my wife's info from her iPhone to her Note 7 and don't want to run into this issue.

Go to Google Play Store, get iSMS2droid app.

iSMS2droid imports all your Apple iPhone SMS texts and iMessages into Android's messaging app.

I use it, fast easy and free.

Nice TY for the tip, I'll give it a try. Do you, or anyone, know of an app with similar functionality for Android to Android? I'm trying to get my text messages from my AT&T Note 5 to my Verizon Note 7 and usually would use either carriers backup service, but of course they don't work cross carrier like that. I'm assuming MMS are lost this way.

SMS Backup and Restore, is the app I use.

One very distinct advantage of the Google Android ecosystem is it's open configuration, the endless possibilities and terrific cross platform interoperability are the features that have made it my favorite smartphone platform. With a built in file system and manager, just like computers have, it's especially useful. Playing nice with my Windows and Mac Laptops is the icing on the cake.

Conversely, Apple's proprietary ecosystem designed primarily to "Lock In Customers" and insure fat gross profits, is very limiting for those used to an open user friendly environment. The lack of a computer style file system is Apple's way of exerting control over its customers. Oh sure the third party developers offer workarounds, but they only serve to complicate things. But it works for Apple, and the Devotees agree.
