Nice TY for the tip, I'll give it a try. Do you, or anyone, know of an app with similar functionality for Android to Android? I'm trying to get my text messages from my AT&T Note 5 to my Verizon Note 7 and usually would use either carriers backup service, but of course they don't work cross carrier like that. I'm assuming MMS are lost this way.
SMS Backup and Restore, is the app I use.
One very distinct advantage of the Google Android ecosystem is it's open configuration, the endless possibilities and terrific cross platform interoperability are the features that have made it my favorite smartphone platform. With a built in file system and manager, just like computers have, it's especially useful. Playing nice with my Windows and Mac Laptops is the icing on the cake.
Conversely, Apple's proprietary ecosystem designed primarily to "Lock In Customers" and insure fat gross profits, is very limiting for those used to an open user friendly environment. The lack of a computer style file system is Apple's way of exerting control over its customers. Oh sure the third party developers offer workarounds, but they only serve to complicate things. But it works for Apple, and the Devotees agree.
